Gallop's Sustainability Policies

We are taking action to making our environment a safer and healthier place to live and work in.

We have adopted a sustainability strategy which shows various ways in which we aim to achieve these goals. Some are now in practice such as our carbon footprint measures, recycled boxes for both our B2B and B2C clients, new clothing products made from GRS certified 100% polyester and Duraproof, giving products a longer shelf life/usage.

We always want to encourage the re-use of our rug bags but we are now looking at using receycled plastics and biodegradable packaging for those that do get disposed of.

Alongside this, products that arrive in plastic bags now are to be housed in recycled plastic and tags made from recycled cardboard which will be attached with string.

Below is the overview of our objectives both environmental and social policy that we aim for as a company and manufacturer of goods.

Environmental Controls

• Adopt best practice and wherever practicale, assist in developing innovative solutions to the environmental issues and problems facing its sector.
• Compliance with Approved Codes of Practice.
• Assess the environmental impact current and likely future operations, integrate environmental considerations and objectives into its business decisions.
• Minimise emissions & pollution.
• The 'waste hierarchy' currently in effect by reducing the production of waste and developing effective waste management and recycling procedures, as well as disposing of unavoidable waste in such a way as to minimise its environmental impact.
• Look at environmental objectives and targets and address how we aim to achieve then monitor/assess.
• Communicate this policy to members of staff and our trade members.
• Monitor and review environmental performance.

Social, Internal and External Controls

We expect our suppliers to ensure that working conditions in their operations meet and preferably exceed international labour standards:

• There is no forced labour and employment is freely chosen.
• Living wages are paid.
• No harsh treatment or discrimination.
• A safe and hygienic working environment is provided at all times.

We also expect our suppliers to:

• Adopt appropriate systems to monitor and take responsibility for compliance with social policies.
• Conduct assessments of their operations to ensure compliance and any improvements are followed.
• Ensure that their own suppliers and subcontractors adopt the same standards in thier operations.

We also adopt these policies within our internal business structure. We expect our employees to adhere to the above and think about how they have an impact both at work and home.
